The national register

Verify a dog

Buying a puppy? Check the registration before you pay. Enter the number and the date of birth exactly as they appear on the card.

Two fields, on purpose. A register you can simply browse is a gift to anyone forging a card.

Where to start

Everything the club does

Getting a dog, living with one, breeding responsibly, and competing. Plus the two things people most often come here to do.

Getting a dog

A dog is a twelve-year commitment on a small island where the sun is hot and the vet bills are real. Start here, before you start looking.

Owning a dog

The club’s job does not stop at the register. Health, training and care are where most of a dog’s life is actually lived.

Breeding

Breeding a litter is a responsibility to the puppies, to their buyers, and to the breed. The club exists partly to hold that line.

A pedigree is only worth the record behind it.

The Jamaica Kennel Club has kept the national register of purebred dogs since 1961. Everything else the club does — the shows, the standards, the rules — rests on that record being accurate and being checkable by anyone.
